Richard Cibula
Born in 2005 in Bratislava, Richard Cibula is a rising Slovak violinist praised for his expressive tone and exceptional musical maturity. He began playing the violin at the age of three under the guidance of his father and entered the Conservatory in Bratislava at only seven years old, studying with Prof. František Török.
Richard continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Anna Gutowska, and since 2020 he has been under the mentorship of renowned violinist Dalibor Karvay at the Music and Arts Private University of Vienna.
He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Vienna, the Slovak Philharmonic, and the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. In 2018, he shared the stage with Midori Goto performing Bach’s Double Concerto. His solo and chamber performances have taken him across Europe, including Belgium, Slovenia, Hungary, and Italy.
Richard is the recipient of numerous international competition awards, including the Grand Prix in Prague (2023), Budapest (2022), Villafranca (2022), and Brussels (2024), as well as top honors at the International Liszt Ferenc Competition and the International Musikfest Wien.
In addition to his solo work, Richard is an active chamber musician, collaborating with members of the Vienna Philharmonic and performing with prominent artists such as Maxim Brilinsky and Sebastian Breit.
