Patrick Cibula
Born in Bratislava in 2001, Patrick Cibula is an emerging Slovak violinist known for his expressive sound and virtuosic technique. He began his violin studies at the age of five with his father and was later mentored by renowned violinist Dalibor Karvay. At just 10 years old, Patrick was accepted for exceptional studies at the State Conservatory in Bratislava and has since studied with distinguished teachers including František Török, Louise Chisson, Albert Fischer, and Gerhard Marschner.
He is currently pursuing his Bachelor studies at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
Patrick has received multiple national and international awards, including first prizes at the Julius von Beliczay Violin Competition and the Prešporský Paganini Competition, as well as top prizes at competitions in Prague, Budapest, Villafranca, Massa, Alessandria, and Brussels. In 2022, he was honored with the Mayor of Bratislava’s Prize for Outstanding Artistic Achievement.
As a soloist, Patrick has performed at notable venues and festivals such as the Brahms Saal of the Musikverein Wien, the Slovak Philharmonic Hall, the Budapest Music Center, and international festivals in Plovdiv, Timisoara, Zuljana, and Brussels.
Alongside his solo career, Patrick has participated in masterclasses with artists including Midori Goto, Anna Gutowska, and the Janoska Ensemble, and he currently plays as a substitute violinist at the Slovak National Theater.
